2019 St Georges Day Parade

A celebration of Scouting in St Albans

Parade through central St Albans and ceremony in Verulam Park near Roman wall section. All timings are approximate.

Groups are asked to bring a spare group scarf to be carried by a young person to be placed on a stand at the front of the arena as directed by the MCs. This will be returned at the end of the ceremony.

Any groups who have tear drop flags are asked to bring then to the park anytime between 1.00-1.30pm.

Everyone to be in smart uniform.

Beavers and Cubs are invited to bring something to wave/carry in the parade.

Each group is asked to give Annette Payne two fabulous facts about their group and two highlights of their Scouting year for use in the ceremony at least two weeks before. Email facts to annette.scouts@gmail.com.

Each group will be given a board to carry at the front of their group.

Ask parents to leave the area near the civic centre after locating their child’s group.  

Since we are parading a little further we will pause at the St Albans School arch to allow any change of flag bearers if necessary, should any be getting tired.

We will be attempting to break the record for the largest human Scout fleur de lis http://guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/400400-largest-human-image-of-a-fleur-de-lis so we need as many people as possible to ensure we succeed.

Time 13:30 – 13:14 District meet up in front of Civic centre.
