Due to a lack of take up from both the Cubs and Scouts sections and combined with the limited time to organise, this year the 1st London Colney Scout Group will not be entering the 2016 District Swimming Gala.

Sorry for those few who were keen in taking part in the event, but there is always next year.

Breaking News

Record numbers attend Remembrance Day in London Colney

More than 300 youngsters from organisations in London Colney and 1,000 villagers made up one of the biggest village turnouts on Sunday.

Children read out the names of each villager who had died during the wars and crosses were placed at the village memorial in High Street for each of the fallen.

The parade was led by piper Mark Bissett and parish council leader Malcolm MacMillan.

Mr MacMillan said to the young people: “It is you who help keep the memory alive and today your parents and organisations are proud of you.

“But the village is also very proud of you for taking part in such large numbers.”

Calling all Volunteers  – This year the Parish Council has decided that the 1st London Colney Scout Group will not be one of the chosen charities who will share in the money collected at the gates to the display on the night.   But we will be the sole provider of hot BBQ cooked foods and hot drinks at the display,  we anticipated demand to be high so volunteers are needed.  If you fancy helping out on the night with serving food and drinks, or see yourself as a BBQ King or Queen, then make yourself known and contact : Chick Taylor :
